About this Course
Devotions and prayers dedicated to the Divine Feminine are a doorway, an opening between the natural world and the mystical unknown. The altar is the anchor of this liminal space, the place where the energy is raised, the magick is spun, and your intentions are given shape and form by the hands of the Goddess.
Altar Blessings are a ritual spiritual service, led by two High Priestesses of the Divine Feminine, to hold space for more light, more love, and more healing to blossom in your life.
She is called Ogbuide, Mommy Waters, La Sirene, and also Santa Marta, La Dominadora (the Dominator). She syncretizes with the Orisha Goddesses Yemaya, Oshun, and Olokun. Depictions in art and statuary are as a mermaid with a fish tail and also as a woman with a serpent balanced in both hands over her head.
On February 27, Priestesses Kimberly Moore and Brandi Auset will perform sacred ritual to bring forth the blessings of the powerful West African Goddess, Mami Wata on behalf of everyone who participates.
This Altar Blessing will invite Mami Wata / Santa Marta to facilitate for us:
- Deep feminine emowerment
- Favor and luck on all of our projects
- Financial prosperity of every kind, from every direction
- Safe passage in our travels
- Domestic harmony
- Assistance in controlling a challenging situation around the home or relationship
For the Mami Wata Altar Blessing, Kimberly and Brandi will each create an altar space to the Goddess to receive petitions. This means two altars – one on the East Coast and one on the West – will be dedicated to Mami in all of her forms, bringing deep energies forth to align with your intentions and to call forth your blessings. Fresh flowers, crystals, and healing herbs will be added to the altars to honor Mami Wata and Santa Marta and evoke her assistance and favor for our petitions. The name and petition of each participant will be written and added to the altars and the blessing bowls, then ritually offered up with the appropriate incense, candles, and prayers.
The Altar Blessing will be performed on Tuesday, February 27, 2018. After the ritual is complete, photos of the altars will be uploaded to this classroom space, along with a summation of the work done, and a few ways to connect with Mami Wata for your personal practice. Kimberly will also be taking an offering on behalf of all of the participants to the water for Mami Wata.
We are so happy and honored that you've chosen to join us for this powerfull ritual to Mami Wata in all of her forms!
